We’re calling all poets and spoken word artists to be part of LMNT Poetry Series: A Night for the Voiceless. Secure your spot in advance to guarantee your moment in the spotlight!​

Presented by Artist Take, The Kre8ive Shop, and internationally acclaimed visual artist and poet Dismoc Le Ma, this event promises to be an extraordinary celebration of poetry and expression.
Whether you're a seasoned performer or stepping up for the first time, we welcome you to join us and make this an unforgettable night!
How to Participate:
1. Open Mic Performers | signup now

Sign up to join the open mic lineup.

All listed performers will get their chance to shine.

Perform multiple poems within a 2–4 minute timeframe. (Duration may vary depending on participant numbers.)
2. Featured & Opening Acts | signup now

Submit your work to be considered for a featured or opening act.

Featured acts: Perform multiple poems within 5–15 minutes.

Opening acts: Perform multiple poems within 4–8 minutes.

Submission Guidelines (only for consideration for Featured Acts & Opening Acts):

Highly Recommended: Provide a link to a video of you reciting or performing your poem.

Accepted: Written poems, if no performance footage is available.

Note: All participants must perform their poems live during the event.
Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older.

Must perform your poem live in front of an audience.

Must submit an original poem (no plagiarism).

Must agree to have their performance recorded by The Kre8ive Shop for marketing purposes (videos will be sent to the artists).

Must be available to perform on the event day: October 12th

Must be able to travel to event location 2510 Sutton Blvd, Maplewood MO 63143.

Must be able to submit a hi resolution photo of self if selected as a feature (pictures will be used for the flyer.)

Must agree to have their performance live streamed on The Kre8ive Shop social media channels.

1. Is there a fee?
No, there is no fee for this event.
2. Is there a theme or topic?
No, artists have the freedom to express themselves however they choose.
3. Do I need to bring any equipment, or will a mic be provided?
No equipment is necessary; we will provide a mic.
4. Is there a dress code?
No, there is no dress code.
5. Are children welcome?
Unfortunately, no, as alcohol will be served.
6. Is there an age requirement to perform?
Yes, performers must be 18 years old or older.
7. I want to perform but I'm nervous. What should I do?
Performing in front of strangers can be less intimidating than performing for friends and family. If you're nervous, contact us directly, and we can schedule you to perform early in the event when the crowd is still arriving. We also recommend having your guest arrive after you perform.
8. I'm not a poet but a rapper/singer. Can I perform a song?
Yes, but it must be performed acapella and fit within the time limits: 3-5 minutes for open mic performers and 5-10 minutes for featured performers.
9. What's the difference between open mic performers and featured performers?
Featured performers typically have more experience, while open mic performers may be new and could be presenting their work for the first time.
10. Will walk-ins be allowed to perform?
Yes, walk-ins are welcome, and there will be a sign-up sheet. It’s recommended to arrive early when doors open. Walk-ins must arrive by 7:30pm anything after you may not get the chance to perform!
11. What's the difference between poetry and spoken word?
Poetry focuses on written language and imagery, while spoken word emphasizes performance, vocal delivery, and emotional impact.
12. Can I read my poem from my phone or notebook?
Yes.
